The Library- Teaching Aids and Information Technology

The Library in AJIPT’s Library catalogue and resources cover adequately all the academic disciplines taught at the Institute.

  • The library is managed by the Committee Members headed by the Librarian. The Committee consists of key library management staff, the HoDs, and the representatives of each academic discipline in the institute.
  • AJIPT shares the library facility with sister-institutions of the same studies.
  • The library’s resources are kept up to date by regular acquisition of new and additional resources: books, didactic materials, reviews, and updates to its electronic databases.


The Librarian

The Librarian must have appropriate qualifications and training required to manage a modern library with diverse type of resources.
Their responsibilities consist of the following:

      1. To advise the Director on matters academic.
      2. To officiate the academic matters of the institute at departmental level.
      3. To spearhead the formulation of educational policies for respective departments for approval by the Academic Boards, respectively, and ensuring of their implementation.
      4. To facilitate the teaching program in consultation with the Director by looking for teachers who are to be appointed by the Moderator.
      5. To evaluate credits from other Institutes in the cases of transfer of credits.
      6. To determine the suitability of the learners.
      7. To certify the admission requirements.
      8. To guide students in the selection of courses;
      9. To approve changes in course selection.
      10. To arrange Public Lecturers and Student Assemblies.
      11. To prepare the daily lecture schedules.
      12. To present students for the Awards of Diplomas and Bachelor’s Degrees.
      13. To convoke the departmental meetings.
      14. To ensure the availability of supplies and equipment for the departments.
      15. To determine the library needs of the department and submitting them to the Librarian.
      16. To carry out all other administrative duties delegated by the Director.

Academic Facilities

Infrastructure
The infrastructure and the classroom environment used by the AJIPT provide a suitable environment for sustained and consistent content delivery through Teacher and other forms of personal contact suitable for academic environment.

Classroom Equipment

Classroom and other venues must be equipped with the requirements of content delivery in the contemporary educational environment.
This means that they are equipped with:

      1. Audio-visual equipment: projectors or other means of displaying content;
      2. Internet access, available at least to the Teacher/presenter.
      3. The use of module as effective teaching and learning resource.

For any public lectures or programmes in which students of more than one class share, larger and suitable rooms must be designated.



Computer Lab

The on-site, internet enabled computer lab must be available to the students for research and communication purposes.
