Lecture attendance is mandatory as Rights and Duties unless a student is permitted by the institute’s Administration; or with express request from their respective Directors, Formators or Superiors of the houses/seminaries from which they come. A student who is absent for one third of the lecture periods will not be examined in that course. Such a candidate will be obliged to re-take the course. Lecture periods designated as study periods should be for that purpose;
Students who feel their rights are aggrieved should consult with the respective HoDs for appropriate redress. In addition to the work covered in class, students are expected to deepen and enhance their material covered during class lectures through intensive personal study. Extra-lecture fora such symposia, colloquy, seminars, workshops, etc. are essential.
Participation in the Academic Life
Lecture attendance; To facilitate students’ fruitful participation in lectures, a teacher will communicate to the respective HoD the following information during the first week of lectures:
Course outline.
Nature of the assignment.
Marking scheme/guide.
Seminars, workshops, and symposia. Term papers. Evaluation/examination (both oral and written): continuous assessment tests, final exams, and Comprehensives. A student who either fails in three fundamental philosophical or theological courses or loses a total of eighteen (18) credits will not be promoted to the next stage of learning. Consequently, the concerned will have to repeat the course(s). In case of a resultant failure after the repetition, the administration reserves the right thereof to dismiss the candidate.
